Bisphenol A (BPA) is produced on an industrial scale by the condensation of phenol and acetone. It is a white solid granule which is soluble in most common organic solvents, but has almost no solubility in water with the density of 1.195. It is mainly used as the raw material to produce polycarbonate and epoxy resin products as well as thermal papers. The products made with BPA possess extremely good performance, including lightweight, transparency, and resistance to impact and heat.
